A Celebration of Community:
Honoring Today’s Veterans and Tomorrow’s Heroes Join us for a very special afternoon of connection, gratitude, and joy at the Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado. On Saturday, June 13th, we are opening our arms to the entire community for our annual Free Community Picnic—a heartfelt celebration dedicated to our veterans, their families, and the children who represent our brightest future.

Activities & Food

  • Freddy's will be providing barbecue for all.
  • Scheels will be providing a wide variety of children's activities, such as big inflatable games like basketball, cannonball air blaster, axe throwing, etc.
  • There will be plenty of tents, seating, giveaways for adults and children.
  • Fun and friendship for all!

    • What began in 2021 as a humble "Thank You" to regional veteran organizations has beautifully blossomed into an all-community gathering. This year, we are focusing on the beautiful bridge between generations. We warmly invite you to bring your children and grandchildren for a unique, educational experience where they can shake hands and speak directly with men and women currently in uniform.

For Tomorrow's Heroes

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our local partners, the day will be filled with food, fun, and friendship. Freddy’s will be serving up a delicious, complimentary barbecue lunch for everyone to enjoy together. Meanwhile, Scheels is transforming the grounds into a playground of joy with a wide variety of children’s activities, including large inflatable games, a cannonball air blaster, and more. Whether you are a veteran, a loved one, or simply a neighbor wanting to share in the camaraderie, there is a place for you under our tents. There will be plenty of comfortable seating, engaging conversations, and special giveaways for both adults and children.the U.S. military.
