Vet-to-Vet Fund
Immediate financial support for veterans in dire need.
Over $60,000 Distributed
Since the beginning of the fund, we have provided funding from a few dollars up to $2,000 for 290 individual veterans and veteran organizations.
Our Mission & The Plaza
The Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado dedicated the physical park location on November 11, 2011. The Plaza is a 501(c)(3) organization created to honor all military men and women, past and present. Our mission is to honor and support our veterans and to educate our community and children.
Our Board of Directors and committee members are 100% volunteer with no salaries or benefits. All of our funding goes directly to supporting the physical plaza, our events, and our Vet-to-Vet fund.
Learn More About The PlazaAbout The Fund
In 2020, we expanded the support leg of our mission by creating our Vet-to-Vet Fund. When the heroes who served our country face unexpected hardships, we believe it is our duty to stand by them. The purpose of this fund is to provide immediate, tangible financial support to veterans in dire need.
Whether it means keeping the heat on in the dead of winter, putting groceries on the table for a struggling family, or securing stable housing to prevent a veteran from ending up on the streets, this fund exists to catch those who are falling through the cracks.
To ensure resources go exactly where they are needed most, we require a referral from a veterans’ organization that has already verified the veteran’s status and the emergency. Because we understand the terrifying urgency of these situations, we cut through the red tape: we pay bills directly and can turn around a lifesaving request within 48 to 72 hours.
*The fund was officially started in December of 2020 with a generous initial donation of $7,600.
