By default, our website software does not collect any personal data about visitors. However, some of the plugins we use may collect personal data such as contact info or registration data for events, and advertisements, which would include number of hits, but does not include your personal info.

By default, any personal data collected on our website through event registration or veteran nominations, for example, is kept confidential and is not shared any with anyone outside of our organization. 

Data We Collect

We review contact form submissions for a certain period for customer service purposes, but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes except with your permission for our testimonials.

We also collect registration data for donations and our events, but we do not automatically share our data with anyone outside of our organization.

If you nominate a veteran using our online digital form or by mailing in a physical form, the attached proof (i.e. Copy of DD-214, VFW ID, VHIC, etc.) is destroyed once verified. It is not stored and never shared with anyone outside of our organization.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Our organization uses Google Analytics to track website traffic. Google Analytics tracks user id and location data to understand how people are using the site. This data is anonymous and not stored--on Google's servers--for a max of 14 months. As a Google user, you can go to https://myactivity.google.com/myactivity and change your preferences on who is allowed to track you and how. 

Registration Data

We do collect names, email addresses, and telephone numbers if you register for our sponsored events. At the request of several event organizers, we provide only this info to our event hosts and golf tournament partners with names only, but you can opt out of providing this info.

We do collect website metrics via Google Analytics and Webalyzer software, but only in recording number of visitors, what cities visit our website, and how many and what webpages are visited on a monthly basis, but no personal information is collected.

Cyber-Security Strategy

We do use security software that records IP addresses and locations of users who violate Federal regulations or threaten our website's secturity through denial-of-service (DoS) attacks or hacks to our website, which is automatically reported back to our ISP and in some cases, federal or state authorities.
