Veterans Plaza Events

The official Memorial Day Ceremony will take place on 5.24.2026 at Noon.  

Every Memorial Day weekend, the Plaza hosts its largest event of the year, bringing in thousands of people from all over Northern Colorado. This event is free to the public and lasts all Memorial Day Weekend. This year, Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado and the Liberty 250 Committee will present an exhibition telling the story of America's War for Independence.

• Keynote Speaker: Tom Hand - Author, Historian, and Founder of "Americana Corner"
• Historical Flag Displays
• Missing Man Table and Honors Ceremony
• A Battlefield Soil Ceremony
• 21 Gun Salute
• Military Equipment & Vehicle Displays
• Rotary's Field of Flags
• And Booths from over 30 Local Vetearn-serving organizations

A Celebration of Community: Honoring Today’s Veterans and Tomorrow’s Heroes

Join us for a very special afternoon of connection, gratitude, and joy at the Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado. On Saturday, June 13th, we are opening our arms to the entire community for our annual Free Community Picnic—a heartfelt celebration dedicated to our veterans, their families, and the children who represent our brightest future.

Whether you are a veteran, a loved one, or simply a neighbor wanting to share in the camaraderie, there is a place for you under our tents. There will be plenty of comfortable seating, engaging conversations, and special giveaways for both adults and children.

• Cost: Completely Free!

We can’t wait to share this beautiful day of remembrance, celebration, and community with you and your family.

On Flag Day,  the Plaza will host a captivating display of 40 historic American flags. Each flag is different in design and bound to an important time in U.S. history,  from colonial flags to the present. Come see how the American Flag you have come to know has evolved over the years, and spend an hour on Flag day learning about our nation's history captured through these great historical symbols. Alongside each flag is a small panel with more information about that flag, allowing guests to better understand its purpose in the time it flew.

 The display is free to the public and will be on the Veterans Plaza grounds from 9AM to  5PM on Flag Day:  Sunday,  June 14, 2026 (weather permitting).

Veterans Plaza Heroes Golf Tournament

Join us on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the beautiful Mariana Butte Golf Course in Loveland for our 4th annual scramble-style tournament!

Event Details

• Date: September 4, 2026

• Time: 07:30 AM (Scramble Start)

• Location: Mariana Butte Golf Course, Loveland, CO

Tournament Highlights:

• Four-Person Scramble Format

• Crazy Putting Contest: Putt with a pool cue, baseball bat, or hockey stick!

• Beat the Pro: A new challenge on a Par 3 hole.

• 400-Yard Drive Pro: Pay our pro to take a swing and increase your chances for a Par 5 win.

• Awards Luncheon: Join us after the tournament for a complimentary lunch featuring a presentation of our Nation's colors and the National Anthem. We will hand out team awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd, & Last Place!) and draw for some amazing prizes.
