Memorial Day Ceremony @ Veterans Plaza
The 2025 Memorial Day Ceremony will be held on May 25th at 12-Noon.
Every Memorial Day weekend, the Plaza hosts its largest event of the year, bringing in thousands of people from all over Northern Colorado. This event is free to the public and last all Memorial Day Weekend. This event changes slightly every year, but in the past has seen flyovers from WWII bombers, historical U.S. flag displays, Vietnam and post-9/11 traveling walls, and Military vehicle and equipment displays. Other local northern Colorado veteran-serving organizations contribute to the day by setting up booths and offering services on the Plaza grounds. In addition to the displays a "Victory Garden" ceremony takes place yearly where soils from battlefields and places of remembrance from around the world are brought here and placed in the garden by a veteran.

Our keynote speaker will be retired US Army Brigadier General Howard "Art" Dillon Jr. General Dillon served in the U.S. Army and then made a career in the National Guard. It is a career where he started out as a private and retired a Brigadier General. His Army service included a tour in Vietnam, where he was highly decorated. His National Guard career saw a short stint in Colorado and a long career in the Wyoming National Guard. Art also had a successful 30 year career in education with a Masters in Education from CSU and presently does leadership consulting. Art and his lovely wife Cheryl have been married for 45 years and have two daughters and two grandchildren.
