Boy Scout and Eagle Scout candidate, Jackson Holloway lead the effort by seeking out donations of material and organizing a workforce to accomplish the mission.

Scouts from Troop 97, parents, and even passersby spent the day pulling weeds, replacing mulch, and painting the engraved service logos on the wall.

All was done in a professional manner and made the Plaza a shining gem for the arrival of the traveling Vietnam Wall which was on display for five days over the Memorial Day Weekend.  Over 20,000 visitors viewed the Wall and attended the services.

Jackson Holloway was awarded his Eagle ranking in September.

Thank you and congratulations, Jackson!

Help Us Grow the Victory Garden

The Veterans Plaza Victory Garden is a living testimony to all those who have served in our military throughout the history of the United States. The soil that nourished the flowers in the garden contains more than 110 soil samples collected from cemeteries, battlefields, military bases, and embassies where American troops have served around the world. The soils are sterilized at the Colorado State University Soils Lab, to avoid non-native species invasion, and at each official Veterans Plaza event on Memorial or Veterans Day, the samples are mixed into the Victory Garden soil.
